The advancement of technology in vehicles is really an amazing thing. Modern vehicles are often equipped with DVD players, LED dash displays, rear-view cameras and more. This is especially amazing if you think of where we were just 10 or 20 years ago.
Back when many of us were growing up, even having power windows was a luxury. Many of my friends in high school had to crank down their windows and push down the locks to each of their doors when they left their car. I grew up in the era of cassette tapes and non-leather seats.
I was thinking of this recently when I purchased my latest truck. I chose to go with the upgraded version of the truck, which included a ton of innovative features:
- Leather seats
- Heated and cooled seats
- Fog lights
- Bed liner
- Hitch
- Brake controller
- LED bed lights
- Rear parking sensors
- Backup camera
- Power sunroof
- Navigation
- Built-in wifi
- Floor mats
- Mud flaps
- Running boards
And these are just the features that I could think of off the top of my head. The truck was exactly how I wanted it, and from the factory. All that I needed to install myself was the aftermarket wheels and tires, and the tonneau cover.
It’s crazy to think: where will factory vehicles be in another 10-20 years?
