Insurance companies cannot force you to use imitation parts.
Make sure only Original Equipment Manufacturers' parts are used in the repair of your vehicle. Imitation parts are not always as good as the original, and we believe our customers should be assured of a top quality repair. After all, you pay premiums month after month just to have the assurance that your car will always be protected. Using substandard parts can put the condition of the car in jeopardy.
All parts will be inspected for fit, finish and function by D&S prior to inclusion in any repairs. If any alternative part does not meet our stringent quality standards, we will take appropriate action to ensure the insurance company involved is made aware and the situation is corrected.
New OEM Parts
These parts come from the Original Equipment Manufacturer ('OEM') for your vehicle. They have never been on another vehicle.
Overstock/Surplus OEM Parts
These new parts are generally original equipment manufacturer’s over runs that have been purchased and distributed by a third party.
Salvage Parts
These are OEM parts that have been removed from another vehicle of your make and model (or a substitutable make and model). They are from the same source as the damaged parts that will be replaced, but have been used on another vehicle.
Remanufactured Parts
These are OEM parts that have been removed from another vehicle of your make and model (or a substitutable make and model), and have then been returned to 'as new' condition. They are from the same source as the damaged parts that will be replaced, but have been used on another vehicle, and then reconditioned or rebuilt.
Aftermarket Parts
These new parts have been manufactured to replace OEM parts by companies other than the OEM.
